I'm Diljit, originally from the southern part of India but grew up most of my life in Calcutta where I did my bachelors in computer science and engineering. I have always been fascinated by the world of computers and have been programming since the age of 10.

I completed my bachelors in computer science and then went on to do my first job at Hewlett Packard on the DataCenter and Infrastructure division where I learned a ton about storage, network and servers management. From there my career took me through Nutanix (backend and systems engineering), PayPal (risk platform infrastructure handling 200M+ payments a day), Zalando in Berlin (near real-time machine learning systems for fraud detection), Twilio (staff engineer on Twilio Verify), SingleStore (control plane, billing and subscriptions) and Wayfair, where I spent two and a half years as a senior engineer on Supply Chain systems — helping products move from warehouse all the way to customers' doorstep.

Today I'm an Engineering Manager at Avoca (YC '23), leading the Deployed Engineering team building AI voice agents for home-services companies. I'm also the founder of QRCodeStack, the world's most affordable dynamic QR code generator.

I write interesting articles about distributed systems, computing, AI agents and system design problems.

Outside work, my life revolves around my two dogs — Rocky, a five-year-old golden retriever who still thinks he's a puppy, and Simba, a five-month-old Labrador who actually is one. Most weekends you'll find us out on an adventure together. Beyond that, fitness, travelling and cars are what excite me — and if you really wish to have a deep conversation, feel free to mail me.
