A handwritten note still gets opened when an email does not. The only question in 2026 is who writes and posts it for you. I compared four services on what they charge per card, whether a real pen or a font does the writing, and how much of the sending you can automate. Every figure below comes from each vendor's own site, checked on 13 October 2026.

Disclosure: I founded MailMyCard, one of the four. It is listed last and I say where it is the wrong choice.
Quick answer: Simply Noted for the lowest US price per note. Handwrytten for heavy business volume. Thankster if you want postage bundled into one price. MailMyCard if you send from or to India and other countries outside the US.

1. Simply Noted — cheapest in the US

A robot holds a real ballpoint pen, so the ink is genuine. At $0.99 a note plus $0.82 postage it undercuts the rest, with no minimums or contracts. Its unlimited plan is $497 a month. Pick it if you mail within the US and want the lowest cost per note.

2. Handwrytten — built for business volume

Retail cards are $3.75, but business plans bring that to $1.19–$1.99 a card for a monthly fee starting at $449, with API access included. Postage is billed at the USPS rate. Pick it if you send hundreds of cards a month and want the API.

3. Thankster — postage in the price

$2.54 a card at low volume includes a US first-class stamp, and monthly plans start at $4.99. Its plan page lists handwriting fonts rather than pen ink. Pick it if you want one predictable number per US card and campaign tools.

4. MailMyCard — real pen, global postage

A real pen writes each card, in a style you choose or your own font. It costs $5.10 per card (writing, cardstock and an addressed envelope) from a prepaid wallet that never expires, then tracked postage on top: from $0.92 within India, $2.54 to the Gulf and Asia, $2.55 to the UK and EU, $2.60 to the US, Canada and Australia. Businesses sending 50+ cards negotiate a lower price. Pick it if you send from India or abroad and want a real pen. Skip it if you only mail within the US and price is the deciding factor; Simply Noted is far cheaper.

Final verdict

The best handwritten notes service depends on where you mail. Simply Noted wins on US price, Handwrytten on volume, Thankster on bundled postage, and MailMyCard when a real pen and worldwide delivery matter more than the lowest price. Order one card from your shortlist before committing to a plan.
